Yesterday, I went to my regular prayer meeting. We were discussing revivals in the area. As I started to pray, I noticed the others got up and encircled me. I was in the “hot seat” It is a privilege to be in the hot seat. The prayers, the laying on of hands, the anointing with oil were
directed at me. My prayers were meant to be a general prayer of repentance for all of us. But they heard a specific plea and were moved by the spirit to help me through the final phase and heard God’s leading to pray for me.
It is called metamorphoses, a changing going so deep that everything in us is affected. A worm or a caterpillar spins a cocoon, or becomes a chrysalis. Then as the sun warms it, it changes. No longer a worm. No longer imprisoned by the bondage, it breaks free able to fly over the world. In the Bible, the word “metamorphous” is translated into the word “transformed”.
Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God–this is your spiritual act of worship. 2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will. (Rom 12:1-2 NIV)
When God came to Gideon, Gideon was hiding in a cistern, winnowing grain. Trying to separate the wheat from the chaff but God called him a mighty warrior and lead Gideon to accomplish God’s will.
This is who we are. Once a child, beaten and bound by events of this world, changed by God Himself into the person he needs us to become in order to fulfil the fullness of the task He set before us, Now, through these trials, we become strong. We have learned to lean on Him. On His strength now, through Him, we fly over the world, able to achieve His bidding through his strength.
