1: Walk in the Forest

Sometimes my family and I would take a walk to Thomas, the big turtle in the Turtle Mountains, located along the border between North Dakota and Manitoba. It was a long hike in the Provincial Park through, fields, over streems, and finally, up, into the forest itself.

At the end of the trail was a lookout tower which one could climb to look over the forest into the states.

The four of us would drive the few miles to where we could park the car. Then embark on the trail that wound through the countryside. The youngest would sometimes race ahead stopping to look back and hurry us forward. Another, would lag behind looking at the flowers, bugs, and whatever else caught her intrest. My wife and I would walk hand in hand, enjoying the spring air, and each other.

Life is a journey. We have the option of stroling through this life with God or on our own. If we walk with God we can either run ahead or lag behind. But what He really wants, is for us to walk with Him, hand in hand, in fellowship with Him.

It is hard to stay with Him. It takes a lot of prayer and studying and a lot of practice. Maybe that is why He allows us to get into trouble; so when we realize we are over our heads, we come runnung back to Him and His fellowship.
