The first thing we need is comfort. Trauma shakes us to the very core of our being. It affects us in ways we do not know. We need friends who will stand beside us, encourage us, and believe in us. But even then, there are times when we are alone and all we have is our thoughts and memories. We need to remember God and His word. This may seem like a long piece to memorize, maybe you will need to break it down into little parts, Do your best. It will help.

2 Cor 7:5-7

(2Co 7:5-7)5 For when we came into Macedonia, this body of ours had no rest, but we were harassed at every turn–conflicts on the outside, fears within. 6 But God, who comforts the downcast, comforted us by the coming of Titus, 7 and not only by his coming but also by the comfort you had given him. 2 Cor 1:3-8

(2Co 1:3-8) 3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. 5 For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows. 6 If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer. 7 And our hope for you is firm, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings, so also you share in our comfort. 8 We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about the hardships we suffered in the province of Asia.
