As of this writing, there is no scientific study concerning the effects of Masturbation on the brain. There is however, a lot of opinion. I have no way of knowing who wrote what or what their motives or mental and Spiritual health is.
One study, says excessive masturbation may reduce prostate cancer in men over 50, but under fifty the rates increase. Another source defining excessive masturbation as three to ten times a day, counters with the argument that the rate of prostate cancer in men under 50 is so low an increased risk is negligible. The argument continued in this source long after my interest died. Again, I question the motives of the writers.
A certain unnamed woman’s magazine stated masturbation helps prepare the woman’s body for sex and tunes it for response. This writer thought it was good. I think I have wandered into a cesspool and not into scientific evidence.
There is a euphemism in the Bible that may very well refer to masturbation, however the context and sin, in this case, does not refer to the masturbation itself, but to the selfish motivations of the individual involved.
Judah had three children. The oldest married Tamar,
7 But Er, Judah’s firstborn, was wicked in the sight of the LORD, and the LORD put him to death. Then Judah said to Onan, “Go in to your brother’s wife, and perform your duty as a brother-in-law to her, and raise up offspring for your brother.” And Onan knew that the offspring would not be his; so it came about that when he went in to his brother’s wife, he wasted his seed on the ground, in order not to give offspring to his brother. But what he did was displeasing in the sight of the LORD; so He took his life also.
As background, the law at the time was ‘when a brother dies without having a child, the younger brother is to marry the older brother’s wife and provide a child for his brother’. This way, the family line would continue. Later, God placed this tradition into His law:
“When brothers live together and one of them dies and has no son, the wife of the deceased shall not be married outside the family to a strange man. Her husband’s brother shall go in to her and take her to himself as wife and perform the duty of a husband’s brother to her. And it shall be that the first-born whom she bears shall assume the name of his dead brother, that his name may not be blotted out from Israel. But if the man does not desire to take his brother’s wife, then his brother’s wife shall go up to the gate to the elders and say, ‘My husband’s brother refuses to establish a name for his brother in Israel; he is not willing to perform the duty of a husband’s brother to me. 8 Then the elders of his city shall call him and speak to him, and if he persists, saying, ‘I do not wish to take her,’ 9 then his brother’s wife shall go up to him in the presence of the elders and pull his sandal off his foot and spit in his face. And she shall answer and say, ‘So shall it be done to the man who does not build up his brother’s house.’ 10 And the name of his house shall be called in Israel, ‘The house of him who had his sandal pulled off.’ (Deu 25:5-10 ESV)
To be called “One Shoe,” was quite an insult and disgrace. Keep in mind the younger brother is to wait until the older brother is dead.
‘If a man who takes his brother’s wife, it is abhorrent; he has uncovered his brother’s nakedness. They shall be childless. (Lev 20:21 NAS)
The only part of the articles {mentioned at the beginning of this page) which I found useful was the statement that “children who exhibit sexual knowledge beyond their years, or masturbate a lot have probably been abused.” The psychological, and emotional reasons for this probably vary from person to person given their experiences and training.
I will leave it to you to explore this further; If you think it is worth your time.
